ABOUT DANIEL
Daniel Garver currently lives in Bakersville NC, where he is a long term resident at the Penland School of Craft. His studio practice explores both ceramics and drawing. He is interested in a refined aesthetic within functional ceramics, producing minimal and practical objects for your home. In more conceptual terms Daniel is interested in complex visual systems across his work. He explores these systems in the intersection of 2dimensional imagery that alludes to form, and 3dimensional forms that can be visually flattened or distorted through surface patterning.
Daniel holds a BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (2011). Daniel has completed a Fellowship at the Penland school of Crafts (15’-17’) and participated in a variety of residencies including the Jentel Foundation, AZ West, The Bright Angle, Haystack Mountain School of Craft, Houston Center for Contemporary Craft and Western New Mexico University. His work has been shown throughout the US in a variety of group and solo exhibitions.
