WESTERN WALTZ COLLECTION by TWO HEADED DIVER / LIGHT BLUE

Newsprint Transfers

Please note that we ship twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays.

NEWSPRINT TRANSFERS are screen-printed by hand using commercial grade underglazes. Newsprint Paper acts as a great vehicle for transferring the image off of the paper and onto LEATHER HARD clay. Because we screen-print our transfers colors are more widely available per pattern.

We recommend using slips to assist with the transfer process. Refer to our How-To sections for instruction and check out the book Graphic Clay by Jason Bige Burnett.

WESTERN WALTZ COLLECTION by TWO HEADED DIVER / LIGHT BLUE

$6.50

Ceramic underglaze transfer, screen-printed by hand on newsprint in our North Carolina studio. Images reflect pattern color after firing. Recommended firing temperature from cone 04-6 for best results. While there are a few colors that can hold up at higher temps (Jet Black has good success) we always recommend testing with your specific firing techniques if you wish to use them above cone 6.

transfer image dimensions: 16"x 10"
paper dimensions: 18"x 11.5"

ABOUT TWO HEADED DIVER

Lynneandrickiephotoforwebsite.jpg

Lynne Hobaica and Rickie Barnett are ceramic artists who share a home and studio in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. They consider themselves storytellers and create artwork with a narrative nature. They employ humor and playfulness in their work, speaking to the fragility of life and the heavy emotions that accompany it. Through color and form, they dance in a world of play, deep emotion, and empathy. While they both work primarily with clay - making both functional and sculptural work - they also love working with other materials including painting, photography, and paper mache.

They both sell work through the Penland Gallery, Gandee Gallery, and Gallery IMA. Their collaborative project, Two Headed Diver, was featured within and on the cover of the March 2020 edition of Ceramics Monthly. They are both wildly obsessed with their energetic little dog, Smokey.
